Up and Running in 3 Minutes

No messy manual deck moving or broken tags. Follow these three quick steps.

Make sure Anki is up to date

The add-on requires modern desktop Anki. Ensure you are running 24.11 or newer (24.11, 25.09, and 26.09+ are all fully supported).

Install the add-on

In desktop Anki, open the top menu bar and select Tools → Add-ons → Get Add-ons.... Paste code 138643721 and click OK.

Restart & pick your block

Restart Anki. The Setup Wizard will automatically launch to guide you through selecting your current block, importing the cards, and downloading lecture media.

Reopen Dashboard anytime: Ctrl + Alt + D

About the ~7 GB media download

Our class deck includes over 49,000 high-resolution lecture slide excerpts, anatomy models, and histology micrographs. Because the total media package is roughly 7 GB, give that initial download some time.

It downloads unthrottled from our dedicated Cloudflare R2 mirror (downloads.shsuclassdeck.com). You can safely close or pause it anytime — it picks up exactly where it left off. If you ever notice missing images later, simply go to SHSU → Image help in Anki.

Already have AnKing cards in your collection?

The wizard automatically inspects your collection for matching cards and offers two clean choices:

  • Merge (Recommended for most): Links matching cards into the class deck structure while preserving your existing review history, scheduling intervals, and personal notes.
  • Import separately: Leaves your existing cards 100% untouched and imports a fresh, independent copy of the class cards.

Anki creates a full automatic backup before any changes are made, so you can never lose your progress.

Studying on iPad, iPhone, or Android

You manage the dashboard (checking off lectures and running updates) on your PC or Mac laptop. Once your lectures are checked and cards move into the SHSU Exams deck, click Anki's standard Sync button.

Your organized decks, scheduling, and all downloaded images sync smoothly to AnkiMobile (iOS) or AnkiDroid, allowing you to study anywhere on campus.
